Bill Romel's Harmonica Workshop

Machining the slide channel into the mouthpiece.

Cutting the mouthpiece holes on the milling
machine.

De-burring and chamfering the mouthpiece holes.
Finishing and polishing will round off the sharp
edges.

Slot cutting in the channel is the last operation in
the machine work on the mouthpiece. The final
finishing is done with hand tools.

The slide is of a new design. Careful testing
supported the creation of larger slots but
maintaining the short stroke of the slide. Thickness has been increased 5 microns.

The new gold plated slide, also available in silver.
